Purpose and Vision
How Jesus loves children! Because He loves them so very much, we provide children the opportunity to worship and to learn of Jesus and from Jesus in JAM — Jesus And Me Children’s Ministry. It is our desire that the children come to know Jesus through the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make them wise unto salvation (2 Tim. 3:15), and that Jesus will become very real to them.
When & What Do Children Learn?
JAM Children’s Ministry is provided for all children ages 3 -11 yrs old during all regularly scheduled worship services. Children are taught to praise and worship God in song. Teachers lovingly teach children the word of God, how to seek and serve the Lord, and encourage kids to come to God in prayer.
All children ages 3 -11 years meet together for worship in the Youth Worship Room. After worship, they participate in one of the following four Bible study classes:
- 3 & 4 years old
- K – 2nd grade
- 3rd & 4th grade
- 5th grade – 11 years old
Each class is taught a Bible lesson and how to apply what they are learning for their age group. The 5th grade studies the same text as the adults in preparation for joining the adults soon in Bible study.
How are Children Taught?
Children are taught from their Bibles. Many teaching tools are utilized to make the lesson come alive, including flannel figures, puppets, object lessons, crafts, and acting the passage out – the children love participating in these! Children are often asked questions to help them see how God’s word relates to them and to help them practically apply it in their own lives. Children are also given an opportunity to pray for God’s help to do God’s word.
